Arts and Humanities High School
Arts and Humanities High School
Arts and Humanities is one of Lincoln Public School’s five focus programs. Inspired by their October 2017 visit to the International Quilt Museum—and especially by “The Haunting of Quilt House,” a Halloween pop-up exhibit—students from Arts and Humanities went on to create a “quilt” made from individual paper collages. The project was so successful that A&H teachers and IQM staff facilitated several additional workshops in which students created paper and fabric quilt blocks on the themes of “Valentines Day/Love” and “Spring.” This exhibition will coincide with the start of the 2018-2019 school year, and is expected to inaugurate a tradition of visits and quilt-inspired artwork by Arts and Humanities students.
This exhibition was made possible through funding from the Nebraska Arts Council and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment. The Nebraska Arts Council, a state agency, has supported this exhibition through its matching grants program funded by the Nebraska Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment.
