Happy New Year from the International Quilt Museum! 

For our Quilt of the Month, we are sharing this exceptional quilt from artist Ellen Oppenheimer. This piece features a medallion-like layout with three irregular rectangles inside of one another. A close look reveals many commercially printed fabrics incorporated into the design including cheetah, bow ties and other illustrated graphics. 

This quilt came to the collection in 2023 as part of our Quilt National Collection. This collection of award-winning quilts were exhibited at Quilt National — an annual, juried exhibition held at the Dairy Barn Arts Center in Athens, Ohio. Quilt National has been active for over 40 years, and the IQM has collected as many pieces as possible since the exhibition's inception in 1979.
