Con Brio - With Spirit
Con Brio - With Spirit
For December's Quilt of the Month, we are sharing this breathtaking quilt from Katie Pasquini Masopust. With shades of purple, gold and brown, this quilt is predominantly made of cotton but also features strips of leather and synthetic satin.
"Con Brio - With Spirit" won the Quilts Japan Prize at Quilt National in 2011. It came to live in the International Quilt Museum's Quilt National Collection in 2019.
From the artist: I have returned to my painting roots, working with acrylics while listening to music. These paintings are then translated into quilts that feature the original artwork as a centerpiece. The flow of my brushwork and the colors and patterns of my fabrics are the notes floating in the air.
This quilt is currently on display as part of "Multifaceted: The Work of Katie Pasquini Masopust" now showing in the Von Seggern Gallery until May 4. For more information on our exhibitions past and present, click here.
